The theater seating is fun and certainly conducive for some serious movie watching without using a tremendous amount of space.
We love the creativity in this palette based Futon design. The room engulfing mega couch delivers enough color to add interest and provides plenty of seating for the whole family and then some to enjoy a fun flick. Continuing the minimalist approach, this media room eliminates the need for more space to accommodate luxurious couches, chairs and the required clearances between them. This home theater den utilizes a small space and effectively so. We loved this design idea to juxtapose to the previous little cave. The thick pillow pile is a clever alternative to sofas and chairs and the simple fireplace creates an atmosphere of a warm, welcoming cave not an overwhelming screen room. This design idea eliminates the need for space consuming couches and chairs and still offers a snuggly home theater experience and living space without exorbitant costs. This cozy den is minimalist yet warm and cozy. We wanted to explore new alternative media room options whether it be a den, corner space or cave along with options not so heavy on the wallet. Home theaters seem to have evolved and then devolved in the past decade with a steep uphill climb in the early 2000s that led from couch and tv cabinet to full blown home theaters, complete with popcorn machine, staggered seating and velvet curtains and then quickly away from that to personal media devices like large screen smart phones, tablets and flat screens that really require little or no cabinetry and offer immense creative flexibility for location and room layout.
